A nursing opportunity is available for experienced Registered Nurses skilled in Med-Surg, Trauma, and Orthopedics to support patient care at a well-established healthcare facility in Alexandria, LA. This contract position involves working with a dedicated multidisciplinary team in a 36-bed unit known for its comprehensive trauma, orthopedic, and medical-surgical care. Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Trauma/Ortho/Med-Surg unit. Perform clinical procedures such as wound vac changes, wound care, IV insertions, and Foley catheter insertions. Utilize critical thinking and prioritization to manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:6. Collaborate effectively with team members, including LPNs, PCTs, and support staff. Adhere to unit protocols and dress code requiring ceil blue scrubs and professional footwear. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Active Nursing License (RN) Current ACLS and BLS certifications Proven Med-Surg nursing experience Strong critical thinking and team collaboration skills Prioritization and time management capabilities preferred Schedule and Work Environment: Shift work on 7AB floor, Main Tower Every other weekend shifts required, with on-call duties during low census periods Unit equipped with IV pumps, wound vacs, SCD pumps, telemetry, and more, supported by an EMR system Location Highlights: Alexandria, LA, offers a welcoming community with its rich cultural heritage, affordable living, and access to numerous outdoor recreational activities.
