Job Description Job Description We are looking for an
experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in
Gaithersburg, Maryland. This contract position requires a
detail-oriented individual who excels at processing financial
transactions with accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will
play a key role in ensuring smooth operations within the accounts
payable function. Responsibilities: • Process vendor invoices
accurately and in a timely manner to maintain smooth financial
operations. • Ensure proper account coding and verification of
transactions to meet compliance standards. • Manage payments
through Automated Clearing House (ACH) and check runs to ensure
timely disbursement. • Collaborate with team members to resolve
discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting. • Maintain
detailed records of all transactions for auditing and
reconciliation purposes. • Monitor and address outstanding invoices
to prevent delays in payment. • Communicate with vendors to resolve
payment issues and establish positive relationships. • Assist with
implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency within the
accounts payable department. • Provide regular updates and reports
to management regarding payment statuses and accounts payable
activities. • Support additional administrative tasks related to
financial operations as needed.• Proven experience in accounts
payable processing within a detail-oriented environment. •
Proficiency in account coding and coding invoices with accuracy. •
Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) and check run
procedures. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced
environment. • Excellent communication skills for vendor and team
interactions. • Proficiency in using accounting software and
systems. • Knowledge of standard accounting principles and
practices.
