We are seeking a Network Architect to support a government contract in Sterling, VA.
Must be a US Citizen to meet contract requirements. Minimum SECRET Security Clearance required. Responsibilities
The Network Architect provides leadership and management of enterprise-wide Information Technology (IT), to include: IT infrastructure management and consolidation, enterprise applications, IT governance, enterprise architecture, integrated IT service delivery, IT security, and IT service portfolio management.Establishes processes and controls to ensure IT programs and initiatives are integrated to meet established goals and are executed in the most effective and efficient manner.Promotes the effective and efficient design and operation of information resources management processes including improvements to work processes, monitoring the performance of IT projects, evaluating the performance of the project(s) on the basis of the applicable performance measurements, and ensuring alignment of the IT services to support business objectives.The Network Architect shall also provide system improvement recommendations including opportunities for systems consolidation.Shall manage technical staff and support the customer's Enterprise Architecture efforts to better align enterprise systems with the strategic goals and objectives of the IT program.The Network Architect shall continuously survey the IT environment for upcoming requirements, mandates, or technologies that may impact the enterprise systems and shall provide oversight for detailed operational and maintenance, as well as engineering planning diagrams depicting end-to-end infrastructure devices. This includes communication flows throughout the network environment to include, but not limited to, servers, SANS, routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and security devices.The Network Architect will be expected to fulfill the following responsibilities:Lead the administration and maintenance of IT infrastructure and secure network architectures as directed by the governmentProvide expertise in cross-domain network solutions and central network monitoring and managementLead the administration and maintenance of the training and testing laboratory, software, and provide training programs as neededProvide leadership for the design, implementation, and maintenance of multiple networks and cyber security technologiesProvide leadership and coordination for the purchasing of software, hardware, and other IT equipment as approved by the governmentCommunicate with the government to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions with government project managementSupport program operations and shall be available on a 24-hour on-call Qualifications: The Network Architect must have a BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Science, or other relevant discipline; an advanced degree or at least 10 years work experience. A Master's Degree may substitute for three years of experience, and a Ph.D. may substitute for an additional two years' experience.The Network Architect must have a minimum of 5 years specialized experience in CISCO network operations (CISCO certifications a plus).
