- Confirm acceptable quality standards and workmanship practices
in assigned work centers by learning/practicing process
specifications and using workmanship standards during everyday job
functions.
- Performance of process audits of work areas to ensure
compliance with ISO 9001/AS 9100 procedures and all appropriate
workmanship standards.
- Administer training and mentoring to less-experienced or
less-skilled personnel across a wide range of skill types and
activities for the assigned work area.
- Develop training material for assigned work center PA group and
maintain the associated materials to ensure a peak level of
accuracy and appropriateness for the current inspection
activities.
- Review nonconformities and provide feedback to authors on
coding selections, defect descriptions, and other key attributes of
NCR's. When needed, provide insights for review boards (PMRB, MRB,
or FRB) to help with disposition or RCCA.
- Closely track non-conformance activity in the assigned work
area and mentor inspection personnel in the authoring and creation
of non-conformance reports.
- Review work instructions / build plans and provide approvals as
Product Assurance representative.
- Assist PA Manager for assigned work area in maintaining
appropriate levels of staffing.
- Where needed, perform in-process and final inspections on
cable/wire harnesses, to include a review of the associated product
build documentation and any associated test data.
- Communicate with QA manager daily on status of initiatives, any
significant issues in the work center, and any programmatic quality
concerns for assigned work area.
- Review procedures and process specification (standard practice)
documents to suggest updates, manage necessary revisions, or make
edits to the current version of documents.Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/equivalent
- 2+ years of related experience
- U.S. citizen
- Level of knowledge in QA and Manufacturing processes that is
moving towards subject matter expertise.
- Fluent in use of Microsoft applications and ability to learn
new computer programs/applications easily.
- Excellent technical writing skills are required.
- Strong work ethic and good attitude - it should be evident from
output of work that the best possible effort was given.
- Personal initiative to become engaged in assigned work area
without needing to be coached or led to next assignment.
- Must be able to read engineering documentation and inspect to
drawings and parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental
instructions.
- Willingness to work 2nd shift activities and occasional
overtime or weekend support is required.
- Have held workmanship certifications at previous employment
locations for manufacturing standards (e.g. IPC-A-620, NASA 8739
series, etc.) within the past 4 years or able to attain within the
first 12 months of employment.
- Previous experience working in ISO-certified company and using
Process Specifications or Military Standards to inform inspection
or work activities.
- Experience performing lead inspection function, or equivalent
technical role, in either a manufacturing or system-level /
integration environment.Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluent in use of TIPQA, Costpoint, or other database
applications
- Knowledge in how to read schematics and wirelists
- Active workmanship certifications from accreditation/standards
companies, such as IPC
- Associates (2 year) degree from accredited institution
- ASQ (or equivalent) certification for CQI, CQA, or an
equivalent level of certification Salary Range: $68,100 USD -
$102,100 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in
addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward
individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in
company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions
may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop
