Marketing leads strategic marketing initiatives supporting both US
and international government, defense, and national security
customers. This role crafts market positioning, demand generation,
and customer engagement strategies. It involves a sophisticated
portfolio of advanced technologies and classified or sensitive
programs across several countries and markets. The ideal candidate
has deep experience in crafting scalable marketing plans and value
propositions for global government markets. They can also adapt to
the outstanding requirements of individual countries or regions.
They will architect clear, end?to?end customer journeys, ensure
cohesion across product portfolios, and build repeatable frameworks
that provide opportunities for efficiencies, consistency and
alignment across markets. This candidate will be proficient in B2G
or highly regulated B2B environments. They excel at translating
technical capabilities into value propositions that resonate. They
understand how to measure marketing’s impact on business value.
They work with business development, program teams, and executive
leadership to drive growth and mission impact. The day-to-day
Marketing Strategy and Planning Develop integrated marketing plans
aligned with government capture strategies, product roadmaps, and
multi?year growth objectives. Leverage market, policy, and
competitive intelligence to inform go?to?market strategy. Define
product, solution, and capability positioning. Manage annual
marketing budgets, ensuring strategic allocation of resources
across campaigns, channels, and markets. Establish KPIs to measure
and evaluate marketing effectiveness. Own market segmentation and
buyer personas for multinational audiences. Content & Sales
Enablement Drive cohesive messaging that articulates our unique
value for government missions. Adapt core product and solution
messaging for specific countries and regions, aligning with local
mission needs, regulatory environments, and market dynamics. Lead
the content strategy, producing high?value materials across the
buyer journey. Partner closely with business development and sales
teams to support pipeline development and major pursuits. Digital,
Events & Demand Generation Drive strategy for industry events,
trade shows, and executive engagements with cohesive messaging and
high?impact presence. Manage targeted campaigns for priority
programs and strategic accounts. Oversee digital strategy and
presence (web, social, video). Collaborate with PR and Government
Relations to align messaging and create breakthrough media
coverage. Team & Stakeholder Management Lead, mentor, and develop a
team of marketing professionals. Manage external agencies and
vendors as required. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders
on market perception, customer engagement, and brand strategy. Lead
cross?functional collaboration with sales, business development,
product, government affairs, and customer success teams. What youll
need 10 years of marketing experience with at least 5 years
dedicated to the government sector or national security or
aerospace, defense, or advanced technology. Ability to thrive in
fast?paced, ambiguous environments and manage competing priorities
across multiple businesses. Experience managing high-performing and
globally dispersed teams (3 direct reports). Proven ability to
market technical solutions to unique audiences such as senior
government officials. Experience defining and managing
multimillion?dollar marketing budgets. Exceptional communication,
storytelling, and executive?level presentation skills. Bachelor’s
degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to travel up to 30% This is a
hybrid role based in Reston, VA or Washington, DC What will help
you on the job Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security
clearance, if applicable. Salary range $164,000.00 - $258,500.00 /
annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San
Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base
pay range for this role is $203,500.00- $305,500.00/ annually At
Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation,
including the scope of the position as well as your background and
experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge,
skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be
provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a
range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on
