A Global Government Contracting Company is seeking a Cleared Systems Engineer to join their team in Sterling, VA! Must have an active secret clearance minimum with ts/sci eligability (TS preferred)
Job Summary:

This company is seeking Systems Engineers to provide systems engineering and complete life-cycle management for complex software development projects for intelligence community government customers. Systems Engineers are expected to have a strong technical background and be highly self-directed and motivated.

Duties and responsibilities:

The Systems Engineer responsibilities include: system design, system architecture, benchmarking, analysis and traceability of technical requirements, system requirements gathering and functional analysis, technical risk assessment, and integration & test. Qualified candidates will also be conducting engineering investigations, preparing program management status updates, monitoring system reliability, developing process improvements and ensuring system interoperability across future systems development efforts as well as legacy systems. Additionally, the Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing program technical design documentation, test plans, change management packages, and presentation materials for customer briefings.

Qualifications required:

• 
  
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering for federal government customers
  
• Demonstrated experience with commonly used government program life-cycle management methodologies (PDR, CDR, RFCs, and CM)
  
• Experience performing requirements definition and management
  
• Experience with concept development, design, integration & test, and site deployment & installation
  
• Broad understanding and experience with current software development methodologies
  
• Must be able to translate users' needs into requirements and work with developers to ensure customer satisfaction with the developed technologies
  
• Some positions require specific customer domain experience

  • Work is performed in a multi-contractor environment that involves daily interactions with customers and peers from other companies. The successful candidate must exhibit a high degree of professionalism, flexibility, and tolerance to change
    
  • Requires periodic status presentations to customers and program management
    
  • Understanding of the operational environments into which the developed technologies are deployed
    
  • Scripting, coding, and database experience would be very beneficial
    
  • Previous use and/or creation of automated testing capabilities
    
    
    Education and Technical Skills:
    
    
    • 
      
    • Minimum of BS or higher degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or related field
      
    • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering for federal government contractors
      
    • Full system engineering life-cycle experience in a mission-centric environment
      
    • Must have strong technical and/or operations skills
      
    • Software testing skills are highly desired
      
    • Systems engineering management processes/tool
