successful candidates for this position will work in a lead
technical role for a space program in Dulles VA, in the NSS
business area within the Space Systems Sector that include
technical roles at the mission, segment, and component levels. They
span the entire program life cycle from early concept studies,
design development, system integration/test, launch and early
operations, mission operations/sustainment, and system
disposal.This position will expose the candidate to equal parts
technical competency, forward thinking ideas, and execution focus.
This position requires a functional understanding of systems
engineering as well as a basic understanding of space systems.This
Systems Engineering role is responsible for working the Systems
Engineering technical team, which includes the following duties:
systems analysis and trades, coordinating Vehicle Systems
engineering activities, interface management, requirements/V& V
management, subcontractor technical oversight, preparing/presenting
SE material. The responsibilities include both
individual-contributor and leadership roles, within a
multi-disciplined engineering team. In this role, the Systems
Engineer is expected to be self-directed using previous experience
to assist in design, analysis, and execution efforts.The candidate
will work with cross-discipline team members and must have
excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability
to work with a diverse community of engineers and managers to
achieve the goals of the program
team.Duties/Responsibilities:Analyze and interpret requirements and
apply them to the design and development of a power
architectureApply in-depth understanding of Geo-communication
Satellites product line of NG or equivalent GEO-communication
satellites.Supports program staff in the analysis, investigation,
and resolution of engineering electrical systems problems,
subsystem requirements development, tasking, and schedule
management as required by the program.Complete subsystem trade
studies for best application from a technical, schedule and
costCross-Collaborate with multiple development projects and team
members to reach common solutionsSupport Integration and Test at a
spacecraft levelSupport Mission Operations during launch of
spacecraftDevelops and manages schedule and resources as required
by the programEffectively operate within a multi-discipline
engineering teamProvide technical oversight to ensure the
electrical system is compliant and verificationEvaluates and
coordinates electrical system designs to ensure system level
requirements are metProvides documentation and makes technical
presentations as requiredDevelops space vehicle level interface
designsAssistance in providing solutions to technical issues
associated with specific projects#NOVASPACEBasic
Qualifications:B.S. in STEM Science, Technology, Engineering, Math
or related area and 5 years of experience; M.S. in STEM or
relatedarea and 3 years of experience; or a PhD in STEM or related
area with systems engineering experience in either
Geo-communication Satellites product line of NG or equivalent
GEO-communication satellitesExperience with a space development
programMust have US Citizenship with an Active or Current TS/SCI
ClearancePreferred Experience (one or more areas desired):Knowledge
of various mission analysis techniques and software
tools.Understanding of Agile software development
practices.Requirements management using DOORSSalary Range: $104,600
USD $157,000 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus
in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward
individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in
company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions
