We are currently searching for a Software Engineer to join our team in Sterling VA. Employing some of the most talented dedicated people on the planet is not by chance. This software engineering position is within the Simulation Solutions & Services (SS&S) business area. SS&S develops and builds simulators and training systems for both military and commercial customers. Devices range in complexity from desktop training all the way up to high fidelity weapon system and full-flight training systems including full visual motion and simulator interoperability.

In this position, you will assist in the design, implementation, and testing of multi-threaded software applications and their associated user interfaces. You will work in a fast-paced, modern agile development environment and collaborate closely with systems, hardware, and test to build advanced, mission-focused capabilities and features. This position requires the ability to obtain a US security clearance. Most aspects of the job are done in a classified lab environment and requires a daily onsite presence.

**Signing bonuses of up to $20,000 are available for active security clearance holders.**

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, integrate, and test software on cross-functional agile teams to deliver solutions within budget, scope, and schedule constraints

  • Highly motivated full-stack software developer

  • Perform software debugging

  • Work independently with general supervision

  • Provide engineering estimates for own work

  • Contribute to bidding and proposal activities

  • Contribute to software and systems engineering requirements capture and analysis

  • Travel to domestic and international customer sites to support training events and product installations



    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR

    • In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required

    • Working knowledge of C#

    • An understanding of agile development practices and general software engineering design principles

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen

    • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements



      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Have a good working knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems

      • Familiarity with DevSecOps and Agile development methodologies

      • Familiarity with C#, Windows Presentation Formats (WPF), and .NET technologies

      • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.)

      • Excellent written and oral communication skills

      • Experience with Visual Studio and Eclipse

      • Usage of source code control tools (SVN, GIT, ClearCase, etc.)

      • Usage of ALM tools (JIRA, Confluence, Crucible, Bamboo)

      • Active DoD Security Clearance (within 24 months)
