programs, coordinate facility operations, and provide customer
support. They manage construction, design, operations, and

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Serves as a Senior Interior Designer in the
Space and Interiors Division (SIOI) within the Installation
Operations Office (SIO). Responsible for planning, design, and
review of new and/or extension, conversion or modernization of
existing interiors of NGA core sites. Perform services relative to
interior spaces including programming, design analysis, space
planning and aesthetics. Possesses specialized knowledge of
interior construction, building systems and components, building
codes, equipment, materials, and furnishings. Ensures building
standards are incorporated into designs that align with the
original design intents of NGA. This encompasses building
specifications including: building finishes, furniture layouts,
furniture types (free-standing and system), and miscellaneous
designs such as art and graphic displays. Works with customers
daily to provide expert advice on interior design principles for
such diverse projects as large administrative offices, dining
areas, physical fitness center, exhibition displays, and medical
area. Supports efforts to standardize/refresh furniture across the
footprint and make final decision on future furniture
Upon placement into this position, the incumbent will receive
notification of DAWIA certification requirement for a Level-I
Career Field Installation Management Officer as required by the CAE
Office and SIO leadership. The incumbent will have one year to
complete this certification requirement.
Candidates must be able to react to quickly changing requirements
and priorities. Candidates must be able to work independently with
minimal supervision; possess excellent interpersonal and
communication skills; and have strong organizational skills. There
is an infrequent requirement to travel to other core NGA sites.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job,
applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an
accredited college or university. -OR- B. Combination of Education
and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of
coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience in
installation management, coordination of facilities operations, or
a related field that demonstrates the ability to successfully
perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30
semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year
of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of
education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A
minimum of 4 years of experience in installation management,
coordination of facilities operations, or a related field that
demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties
associated with this work. -AND- LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: DAWIA
certification may be required for this position; see Position

QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory
qualifications, experience in the following is desired:
* Major study -- interior design or other field that included and
passage of the National Council for Interior Design Qualification
* Experience in Government contract management.
* Proficiency with graphics software systems including: Adobe
Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp, and REVIT.
* Maintained art, graphics, branding, and building signage
inventory and selected replacements to sustain the architectural
interiors aesthetic integrity for an organization.
* Developed and maintained interior design related building
standards, processes, procedures, forms and documentation, to
improve quality and efficiency.
Additional Job Requirements
You must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret security
clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information. In
addition, you are subject to a Counterintelligence Polygraph
examination in order to maintain access to Top Secret information.
All employees are subject to a periodic examination on a random
basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Refusal to take
the examination may result in denial of access to Top Secret
information, SAP, and/or unescorted access to SCIFs.
Employees with SCI access and who are under NGA cognizance are
required to submit a Security Financial Disclosure Report, SF-714,
on an annual basis in order to determine continued eligibility.
Failure to comply may negatively impact continued access to Top

PROMOTION OPPORTUNITY: Promotion opportunities allow applicants at

NGA utilizes all processes and procedures of the Defense Civilian
Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Non-executive NGA employees
are assigned to five distinct pay bands based on the type and scope
of work performed. The employee's base salary is established within
their assigned pay band based on their unique qualifications. A
performance pay process is conducted each year to determine a
potential base pay salary increase and/or bonus. An employee's
annual performance evaluation is a key factor in the performance
