SS develops and builds simulators and training systems for both military and commercial customers. Devices range in complexity from desktop trainers to high fidelity weapon system trainers.We are seeking highly motivated, creative, and passionate software engineers to drive innovative solutions to our customers.In this position, you will work as an individual contributor on a scrum team to design, implement, and test complex multi-platform training device software features of moderate to high complexity.You will work with subject matter experts and other team stakeholders to execute the team's goals and objectives on one of our largest DoD programs.This position requires the ability to obtain a US security clearance.Most aspects of the job are done in a classified lab environment and requires daily onsite presence.** Signing bonuses of up to $10,000 are available for active security clearance holders**Primary Responsibilities:Design, develop, implement, test, and debug real-time, multi-threaded software and associated user interfacesAnalyze existing products and processes and provide recommendations and implementation plans for improving existing solutionsAssist the scrum team in decomposing features into user stories and providing story point estimationsParticipate in daily standups, sprint/increment planning events, and end of sprint retrospectivesProactively raise risks and opportunities and communicate them to the Product Owner and/or Scrum MasterActively mentor and coach junior engineersPerform bidding and proposal activities to support the acquisition of new businessIndividual job duties may vary and may require travel to customer sitesBasic Qualifications:US CitizenshipBachelor's degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is requiredMust have an active US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirementsStrong proficiency with OOP in C++ and/or C#Must be able to work onsite and travel to various customer sitesPreferred Qualifications:Active DoD Security Clearance (within 24 months)High attention to detail, quality, and commitment to excellenceHigh learning agility, able to quickly learn new concepts and skills in a fast pace environmentStrong communication skills, both written and verbal, adapted to different stakeholders at all levels in the organization.Experience with software development in Linux and Windows Operating SystemsExperience with GUI design and programming using .NET, WPF, XAMLExperience working on a scrum team using the Scaled Agile FrameworkFamiliarity with scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.)Usage of source code control tools (SVN, GIT, ClearCase, etc.)Usage of ALM tools (JIRA, Confluence, Crucible, Bamboo)Affinity towards the Aerospace and Defense industryCollins Aerospace, a Raytheon Technologies company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry.
