Position Overview The Simulation Solutions & Services (SS&S) department seeks a highly motivated, detail-oriented Software Engineer to work on the development of new and exciting simulation systems and products ranging in complexity from desktop trainers to high fidelity weapon systems for both commercial and military customers.   • Design, develop, implement, integrate, test, and debug real time systems software
  • Contribute toward development of high-fidelity flight simulation devices
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with peers and management
  • Work with cross functional team to understand customer requirements and deliver solutions within specified budget, schedule, and scope
  • Participate in peer reviews, technical working groups, and demos
  • Provide accurate time estimates for their software development efforts
  • Actively learn new technologies and techniques and apply them to new domains and problem sets
  • Support, maintain, and enhance existing software products
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Contribute to engineering design documentation Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree and less than 2 years prior relevant experience OR
    • In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
    • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements Preferred Qualifications:
      • Usage of Configuration Management tools (SVN, Git, ClearCase, etc.)
      • Proficiency in Object-Oriented Design and Programming using C/C++ or C#
      • Experience working with Agile, Kanban, or SCRUM development methodologies
      • Familiarity with the concepts of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environment
      • Experience with Computer Network Protocols (Ethernet, TCP, UDP, HTTP)
      • Strong troubleshooting skills, especially within a system of systems
      • Exposure to real-time, multi-threaded programming
      • Affinity towards aviation and/or flight simulation industries
      • Active Clearance (within 24 months)
      • Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as Visual Studio or Eclipse
      • Interest and/or experience with building computers or home labs
      • Curiosity about new technologies
      • Interest in configuring and administerin virtualized lab environments
      • Interest in containerization (Docker), automation/Infrastructure-as-Code (Ansible), virtualization
      • Experience with automation and scripting languages (PowerShell, BASH, python, etc.)
