Job Description:
Join US Foods as a CDL Class A Local Driver and be a vital part
of our dedicated team delivering unparalleled service and products
to our extensive customer base of restaurants and foodservice
operators. Driving locally, you'll be home every night, ensuring a
healthy work-life balance. This position is critical in ensuring
the efficient and safe delivery of food products to our customers,
reinforcing our commitment to operational excellence and
outstanding customer service. Safely transport food and foodservice
products to local customers. Inspect vehicles for mechanical and
safety issues, and perform preventative maintenance as required.
Plan routes efficiently and meet delivery schedules. Document and
log work/rest periods and kilometres spent driving to comply with
federal and state regulations. Comply with truck driving rules and
regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break
periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. Collect
and verify delivery instructions, handling invoices and necessary
paperwork. Report defects, accidents, or violations and ensure the
security of cargo. Excellent driving skills and familiarity with
local routes. Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Good physical condition to lift heavy loads when necessary.
Proficient in using GPS and other routing systems. Effective
communication skills. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision
Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s
License (CDL). No recent moving or driving violations. A clean
driving record and must pass a drug test and background check.
