Job Description:

MedStar Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to fill the position of Bed Board Coordinator, vital for effective patient flow within our facilities. As a cornerstone of our patient-first health care services, the Bed Board Coordinator (RN) will play a critical role in maximizing patient outcomes and optimizing hospital bed allocation across various departments. This position requires strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work dynamically with multiple healthcare teams to facilitate timely patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. Manage the daily operations of patient bed assignments in coordination with multiple departments. Utilize patient acuity and bed availability data to make informed decisions regarding patient placements. Communicate effectively with healthcare teams to expedite admissions and transfers, optimizing bed usage and minimizing delays. Participate in daily huddles and meetings to forecast bed needs and address any potential challenges. Maintain accurate records of bed occupancy, patient transfers, and discharges. Work collaboratively with the nursing, administrative, and clinical staff to enhance workflow and patient care. Strong organizational and multitasking skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency in hospital management software and patient care systems Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Problem-solving skills and capacity to make quick decisions Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice Certification in Health Care Administration is a plus
