Job Summary :\n A Vascular Technologist specializes in performing
non-invasive diagnostic imaging studies to evaluate the health of a
patient’s vascular system, including arteries and veins. This role
focuses on detecting and diagnosing conditions such as peripheral
artery disease, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), carotid artery disease,
and other vascular disorders using ultrasound, Doppler, and other
specialized imaging techniques. The Vascular Technologist
collaborates with physicians to contribute to diagnosis, treatment
planning, and patient care. \n\n Key Responsibilities : \n \n
Perform vascular ultrasound examinations, including carotid,
arterial, venous, and abdominal aorta studies, as ordered by the
physician. \n Operate specialized vascular ultrasound equipment to
assess blood flow, detect blockages, narrowing, and other
abnormalities in arteries and veins. \n Prepare patients for
vascular exams by explaining procedures, positioning them
correctly, and ensuring their comfort. \n Recognize and document
normal and abnormal vascular findings, providing detailed imaging
results for physician interpretation. \n Administer contrast
agents, as necessary, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
\n Collaborate with vascular surgeons, cardiologists, and other
healthcare professionals to assist in diagnosis and treatment
planning. \n Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging
data, measurements, and detailed reports. \n Adhere to infection
control protocols and ensure the proper cleaning and maintenance of
vascular ultrasound equipment. \n Monitor and document patient
vital signs, ensuring patient safety during procedures. \n Stay
current with advancements in vascular technology and ultrasound
imaging techniques through continuing education. \n \n\n
Qualifications : \n \n Education : Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Vascular Technology. \n
Certification :\n \n Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical
Sonography (ARDMS) is required. \n Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification is required. \n \n \n Experience : Prior experience
