Providing information and recommending treatment programs that support our proactive philosophy, you'll approach health from a holistic perspective that includes alternative therapies and lifestyle changes in addition to the latest medications. Pharmacy Director -Clinical, Quality and Safety Location: Sterling, VA Job Number: 946482 Date posted: 03/31/2021 Submit Interest Description: Leads the planning, development and monitoring of KPMAS comprehensive regional pharmacy strategy to enhance the clinical, quality, service and cost effectiveness of programs and services. Thought leader representing pharmacy regionally and nationally for new pharmacy programs and services. Partners with MAPMG regional leaders and health plan leaders to ensure optimal formulary and drug use management initiatives.



Essential Responsibilities:


  • Develops strategic plan for pharmacy programs and services outside of dispensing activities that delivers measurable results to advance Kaisers mission for service, quality and affordability. Includes but not limited to developing, monitoring, and improving - traditional and specialty medication management; proactively reducing drug related problems; medication adherence; pharmacist administered immunizations; medication reconciliation; new member onboarding; cost effective drug utilization; medication safety and to ensure comprehensive programs and services that meets all accreditation and quality metrics across the continuum of care.
  • Works collaboratively with MAPMG PT co-chairs to develop a cost effective formulary and recommend utilization management tools to meet Kaisers affordability mission. Includes but not limited to coordinating physician education, presenting at physician in chief meetings, presenting to department leaders and clinical staff regarding the regional drug formulary in effort to augment appropriate prescribing practices.
  • Develop, coaches and mentors team members to build engagement and a high performing team that inspires innovation, creativity, project completion that enables Kaiser to continue to meet our mission for service, quality, affordability for our members and communities that we serve.
  • Accountability for creating a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance for area(s) of assigned responsibility. Maintains knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations and regional policies and procedures and performs in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and accreditation standards as they relate to the assigned department.

    Experience


    • Minimum five (5) years of increasing level of management experience leading managers and individual contributors in pharmacy operations and project management required.
    • Minimum three (3) years of clinical pharmacy practical experience required.




      Education


      • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Pharm.D or BS degree in Pharmacy required.




        License, Certification, Registration


        • Pharmacist License (District of Columbia) OR Pharmacist License (Maryland) OR Pharmacist License (Virginia)




          Additional Requirements:


          • Experience in managing all aspects of clinical pharmacy services and clinical pharmacy specialists required.
          • Computer literate with common word processing, spreadsheet and database computer software and applications required.




            Preferred Qualifications:


            • Post-graduate clinical pharmacy residency training and/or Board Certification preferred.
