Our portfolio of national and super-regional brands and licensed products includes Hood, Heluva Good, Lactaid, Blue Diamond Almond Breeze, Planet Oat, Hershey's Milk & Milkshakes and more.Job Summary:Operates sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater (sewage) treatment plant to control flow and processing of sewage by performing the following duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain a safe, compliant and efficient wastewater operation.Lead a team of five operators while hiring, evaluating and mentoring staff.Provide operator training, SOP development and guidance on wastewater operations.Evaluate water and wastewater stream characteristics and be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Be able to discriminate between normal and abnormal conditions by being familiar with the normal characteristics of the systems.Monitor and evaluate the treatment process. Have a thorough understanding of the chemical and biological wastewater processes (anaerobic, aerobic, DAF, BNR).Regulate the flow of wastewater through the plant by controlling pumps, valves, blowers and other equipment; reads meters, gauges and other recording devices. Keeps a daily log of plant operations.Collect samples, perform laboratory analyses and interpret results for a variety of measurements.Maintain detailed logs and records of system performance, testing results, and rounds.Ensure compliance with all WWTP permit standards. Continuously evaluate the operations and provide guidance on all challenges.Perform required state/local permit reporting and permitting.Perform project management tasks including: obtaining quotas, obtaining Pos, design review, scheduling contractors, budget management, and contractor management.Develop and manage budgets, both annual maintenance and capital.Manage inventory of spare parts at the wastewater plant.Additional Duties:--Schedule and perform service and care for mechanical equipment according to preventive maintenance scheduling; perform all PMs in a timely manner according to the schedule.Operate a variety of tools and equipment; perform general plant cleaning and grounds maintenance.Establish and maintain positive working relationships with external entities (authorities, equipment vendors, contractors, etc.)Perform periodic rounds of the main facility, focusing primarily on drain systems and water flows.Continuously improve the operation of the facility, identifying and implementing water savings and chemical reduction measures.Be available 24/7 for calls and prepared to report as needed for emergency situations.Assist in the performance of breakdown repairs as needed.Attend meetings as required and be the frontline contact for all wastewater needs.Maintain WWTP knowledge by attending company offered refresher training, courses and or webinars.Attend to various tasks involving responsibility for the food safety and quality of company products.Basic Requirements:----Five to seven years WWTP operations experience and WWTP operator license/certification.Prior permit reporting experience.Basic proficiency with office productivity software, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.Proven ability to work productively in a team environment as well as independently as needed.Excellent communication skills.Ability to multi-task as needed.Additional and Physical Requirements:----Ability to work a variety of shifts according to business needs.Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time according to current demands.Ability to move and lift up to 60 lbs. occasionally.Ability to work in all weather conditions as needed.HP Hood is an Equal Opportunity EmployerFemale/Minority/Veteran/Disabled"VERVRAA Federal Contractor"--
