Job Description:
AVENU--- is looking for a dynamic and passionate Scrum
Master/Technical Project Manager with experience in Banking /
Payment Services to support the Avenu platform (a Bank-as-a-Service
platform). This is an exciting opportunity to participate in
building and implementing a new core banking
platform.Responsibilities:
- Lead Scrum ceremonies for your team(s) and participate in
cross-team coordination of projects with dependencies
- Experience in facilitating project meetings, identifying
risks/dependencies/impediments, and handling multiple
priorities
- Guides team in task estimating practices and facilitates team
estimates
- Provides assistance with planning and obtaining commitments to
complete tasks within established schedule and budget
constraints
- Oversee the tracking and performance of all project
activities
- Interacts with vendors, clients and other stakeholders to
ensure that requirements are properly understood and
implemented
- Work collaboratively with development teams, technical leads,
product management, security, compliance and executive management
to determine technical direction and priority of the teams
- Create or analyze business requirements documents and project
timelines as needed
- Continuous improvement of Sprint release processes to maximize
team performance
- Make decisions and communicate trade-offs and risks
- Make recommendations to management about schedules,
prioritization, and resource allocation with input from team
members
- Ability to perform detail-oriented business and technical
analysis to discover, refine, and document the requirements for
technically oriented projects
- Coordinate releases and product launch processes with Product
Management, Security and other teams Basic Qualifications:
- This is a hybrid (on-prem / remote) position, but will require
regular travel to our Sterling and Fairfax, Virginia offices
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional
(CSP) with demonstrable expertise of Scrum and Kanban
- 8+ years of relevant experience in software development
- At least 4 years of experience as a Scrum Master
- Experience working with remote teams
- Experience as a Technical Project Manager and/or background in
Software Development
- Experience in Banking or Payment systems
- Manage Scrum ceremonies (daily, retrospective, planning,
review, grooming, sprint demos)
- Excellent documentation, communication, facilitation and
coaching skills
- Proficient in Agile development methodologies, understanding of
DevOps Integration
- Knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition
of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement)
- Prior experience on using Java and related technologies for
building microservices applications
- Experience with cloud technologies is preferred
- Must have excellent communication (verbal & written),
interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with metrics-oriented reporting
- Support and train multiple Scrum teams through all Agile Scrum
events and practices to empower teams in their delivery and
execution of business value
- Ability to resolve conflict through arbitration, negotiation,
reasoned discussion, or escalation
- Conduct a collaborative and supportive team culture through
engagement and team building practicesPreferred Qualifications:
- Possess strong interpersonal communication skills and
confidence to collaborate effectively with a cross-functional
multi-team environment
- Have experience leading others with the ability to earn trust
while still challenging the team to improve and operate outside its
comfort zone in an Agile environment
- Are highly proficient in Jira and Confluence
- Ability to initiate, plan, execute, and guide the work of a
team to achieve specific goals and meet specific success criteria
within a specified time
- Experience in developing full-scale project plans and
associated communication documents, including identifying and
managing project dependencies and critical path
- Brings a high-energy and passionate outlook and can influence
those around them
