Sr. Data Center Implementation Project Manager

The Sr. Data Center Implementation Project Manager (IPM) reports to the Manager, Implementation Services and is tasked with Implementing the full range of Managed Services for GDT---s customer base. For this senior level, customer-facing role, the candidate should be a highly-organized, experienced technical project manager, self-starter and multitasker, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to operate effectively in a fast-paced collaborative team environment. The Sr. IPM will need to become a subject matter expert on GDT---s products and services, familiarize him/herself with often shifting business needs and challenges, and balance customer satisfaction with company success by applying Project Management Best Practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following; other duties may be assigned.
------------------Responsible for implementing the full range of GDT Managed Services Products and assists customers through the on-boarding process------------------Responsible for running Projects that involve installation of internal GDT Infrastructure------------------Works with customers and internal resources to complete technical discovery------------------Coordinates with Sales, Facilities, Networking, Engineering and Purchasing to ensure that deliverables are met on time.------------------Applies Project Management expertise to ensure accurate and timely delivery of services------------------Collaborates with team managers and resources to identify project approach, deliverables, tasks and resources required to complete a project, specifically as it pertains to technical tasks and deliverables------------------Develops and actively manages Project Plans identifying applicable phases, tasks, resources, deliverables and due dates------------------Maintains a high level of knowledge about GDT services, including customer requirements, methods of delivery, implementation, support processes and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)------------------Identifies requests for out-of-scope work, refers to sales where required, and tracks items requiring work orders to ensure that revenue is received for work performed------------------Manages multiple projects with large/complex scope in a deadline-driven environment and completes projects on time------------------Manages customer relationship from post-sales through completion of implementation------------------Continually develops and improves internal processes and documentation within the organization------------------Balances customer satisfaction and company success through applying traditional PM practices------------------Maintains accurate personal time records and provides weekly project reports to customers and management------------------Performs other duties as assigned--BASIC QUALIFICATIONS--------------------College degree in business, project management, or information technology or other related technical disciplines------------------PMP Certification, or other relevant Project Management certification(s)------------------7+ years project management experience in an IT infrastructure environment.------------------Extensive experience working in a Data Center environment------------------Strong understanding of Network technologies such as Switches, Routers, Firewalls------------------Strong understanding of Server Components, Operating Systems and Virtualization------------------Past experience successfully completing customer and/or Data Center migrations------------------Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to interface both internally and with the customer at all levels including Senior Management ------------------Superior verbal and written communication and analytical problem-solving skills ------------------Advanced understanding of technical infrastructure components and their functions------------------Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project, Access and Visio

  • Must be able to pass an extensive background check.--
    ------------------Experience working in data center, IT or building management environments, especially with technologies from strategic vendors (e.g. Cisco, EMC, Dell, etc.)
    • At least one other certification, including but not limited to: Network+, Security+, CCNA, ITIL v3
    • Scrum/Agile, Six Sigma or related certification(s)
    • Other technical certification(s) (Microsoft, Cisco, LEED, etc.)
    • Working knowledge of industry-leading project management and CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce, ServiceNow, etc.)GDT is a great place to work, and we have the plaques to prove it.
