Job Description Job Description Salary: A3 Technology, Inc. has
an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) NextGen team in Washington,
DC. This position requires the successful candidate to provide
division-level engineering support to the NAS Lifecycle Planning
Division's (ANG-C7) mission of planning, implementing, and
reporting on the NextGen portfolios, lead and guide the Branch
systems engineers and support a range of engineering tasks.
Responsibilities: Assist in the development and review of the ATM
Segmentation Plan, Operational Improvements and Support Activity
development, Enterprise Architecture Roadmaps, demonstration plans,
and other NextGen related activities. Conduct evaluations of the
baselined (As-Is) engineering, acquisition (program
functionalities), and infrastructure and identify engineering and
acquisition gaps, risks, and opportunities associated with mid-term
NextGen objectives. Analyze systems to ensure they support NAS
architecture objectives, identify and analyze interactions and
dependencies between NextGen systems. Perform engineering
assessments related to NAS infrastructure systems (communications,
surveillance, automation, and navigation) and mechanisms and submit
technical papers and briefs to support informed decisions on
NextGen activities and initiatives. Identify key dependencies,
gaps, and integration challenges, as well as providing
recommendations to minimize programmatic impacts. Skills Required:
Candidates must have experience with the NAS Enterprise
Architecture and Roadmaps. Use of systems engineering concepts to
analyze various aspects of systems, evolution of the systems
(As-Is) to future configuration states (To-Be), and analyzing
changes in the system overtime and identify gaps and shortfalls in
operational capabilities and inform strategic evolution of the
system. Familiarity with enterprise level requirements or
enterprise architecture development. Microsoft Office suite
expertise. Skills Preferred: Enterprise Architecture
experience/certification preferred. Detailed understanding of many
primary FAA systems (ERAM, ATOP, STARS, DataComm, SWIM, etc.).
Prior FAA NextGen work experience. Education: Bachelors degree in
engineering from ABET accredited college or university and 10-15
years of relevant experience OR Masters degree in a related field
and 7-10 years of relevant experience. Additionally, US Citizenship
or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is a must.
Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidates will
undergo a Government investigation and must meet eligibility
requirements for Government clearance. Verification of past
employment, education and references is also required. It is
imperative that candidates be either a US citizen or a current
green card holder with the last 3 consecutive years as a resident
of the US. The salary range for positions is $50,000 to $175,000.
This range is provided as a general guideline and should not be
interpreted as a guarantee of compensation. Actual salary offers
will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not
limited to the specific responsibilities of the position, the
candidates education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and
abilities. In addition, compensation may be influenced by
applicable Federal Government contract labor categories and
