The Virtualization Engineer will be responsible for engineering
solutions for baseline VDI builds ensuring operating system
upgrades, planning and implementing desktop virtualization
technology, and etc. The Virtualization Engineer will be trusted to
engineer new and improved enhancements for existing and emerging
virtual desktop technologies. Job Description -
- Engineering, designing, testing, implementing, maintaining,
securing, and full life-cycle management of the complex Citrix
XenDesktop and NetScaler solutions -deployed in the large
Enterprise environment
- Designing and supporting Microsoft infrastructure solutions
including Azure Virtual Desktop, on-prem, cloud and hybrid
- Interacting with Government regarding technical considerations
for problems, issues, or conflicts
- Engineering, implementing, mitigating, monitoring, and tuning
VDI environment and management software to obtain Authorize To
Operate (ATO) for new VDI solutions
- Managing Citrix products (Virtual Apps, Virtual Desktops, ADC,
Provisioning)
- Operating and executing scripting skills in PowerShell or
Python
- Providing Tier 3 and above support as needed (troubleshooting,
problem resolution support, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA))
- Preparing and maintaining documentation for VDI solutions,
processes, and procedures related to engineering projects. Job
Requirements -
- Experience performing engineering work associated with the
design, development, maintenance, and testing of infrastructure for
desktop application -packaging and deployment technologies
- Knowledge of Citrix XenApp, AppLayering, and/or Enterprise
Layer Manager (ELM)
- Hands-on experience with SQL Clustering Failover
- Knowledge of cloud, networking, and enterprise
architectures
- Expertise in the Windows 10 area - Standard Operating
Environment (SOE), imaging, evergreen, etc.
- Required certification:
- CWS-215: Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 Administration
On-Premises and in Citrix Cloud
- Preferred certification(s):
- Managing Modern Desktops (MD-101)
- Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (1Y0-312)
- Azure Standard Characteristics
- Experience performing engineering work associated with the
design, development, maintenance, and testing of infrastructures
for desktop application packaging and deployment technologies
- Identifies, designs, and implements process improvements for
the virtualization of and distribution of applications: automating
manual processes, optimizing delivery, re-designing infrastructure
for greater scalability
- Analyze user's requirements, concept of operations documents,
and high level system architectures to develop system requirements
specifications
- Provide technical leadership for the integration of
requirements, design, and technology
- Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing
operations
- Develop system architecture and system design
documentation
- Interact with the Government regarding technical considerations
and for associated problems, issues or conflicts
- Responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and
deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of
responsibility Skills and Task
- Can perform tasks of senior level technicians, specialists,
and/or managers. - Leadership Management
- May work individually or as a key member of a senior leadership
team.
- Oversees and monitors performance across several disciplines,
and when required, takes steps to resolve issues. Guidance
- Provides experts guidance and direction to Government and
Vendor senior level technicians and managers.
- Directs multiple contractor and subcontractors teams through
project completion. Training and Certifications
- DoD 8570 IAT II compliance or information assurance
certification commensurate with technical objectives and services
required within the task order.
- Applicable software or hardware training and certifications
commensurate with the technical objectives, services required and

- Responsible for managing very complex and/or high risk
programs, and shall not serve in any other capability.
- Supervise assigned technical staff, including subordinate
managers. -
- Establish state-of-the-art techniques for designing,
developing, modifying and troubleshooting highly complex computer
operating hardware system.
- Design operating/hardware systems; formulate system concepts
and architecture, specific requirements, and develop implementation
approaches. Identify and direct resolution of complex
hardware/software interface issues; subject matter expert on
emerging technologies; direct the development of systems
specifications and technical documentation. -
- Provide technical direction for the development, engineering,
interfacing, integration, and testing of all components of complex
hardware/software systems to include requirements elicitation,
analysis and functional allocation, conducting systems requirements
reviews, developing concepts of operation and interface standards,
developing system architectures, and performing
technical/non-technical assessment and management as well as
end-to-end flow analysis.
- Conduct and/or approve end-to-end system trade analyses to
optimize system operations over its life-cycle through the proper
balance of non-functional system performance areas. Education and
