Job Description Will be assisting technologists at UPMC Hanover and other outpatient diagnostic locations as needed. This position will work 8 hours per week with set days negotiable. Includes holiday rotation. /n Must be a 2nd year Radiology student. /n Responsibilities: /n /n - Depending on modality, may utilize complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, reconstruction and documentation of image data and completes procedures according to protocol under the supervision of a Radiologist or Technologist. /n - May perform daily equipment inspections, warm up procedures and follow Quality Control Program under supervision of a Technologist. /n - Assist Radiologist and Technologist setting up contrast; however, will never be responsible for loading or priming the injector. /n - Obtain quality images while following radiation safety standards and protocols. /n - Assist with positioning and performing exams but should never hold the detector or patients for radiation procedures. /n - Arrive patients, track exams, scan scripts, and schedule exams in the Radiology Information Systems. /n - Assist Radiologist and Technologist in performing modality specific exams. /n - Maintain clinical proficiency for all completed competencies and equipment skills. /n /n - Must be an active 2nd year student in ARRT, ARDMS, CNMT, or NMCTB approved school. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: /n - Basic Life Support (BLS) /n - Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) /n - Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal /n - Act 33 with renewal /n - Act 34 with renewal /n - Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal /n /n UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
