Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY:The Site Medical Director serves as clinical
leadership at the CBHC site to which they are assigned. They
provide direct supervision to clinical providers and their teams.
This individual works closely with the site Director of Operations
as well as a multidisciplinary clinical and operations team to
ensure highest clinical quality, smooth patient flow, optimized
patient access and cost-effective utilization. Additionally, they
provide direct clinical care to patients, based upon their
specialty training, through an interdisciplinary and collaborative
approach that takes into consideration the psychosocial aspects of
both health and disease. Responsible for managing all medical
providers including staff physicians, nurse practitioners, and
physician assistants.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:STRATEGIC
LEADERSHIP Works collaboratively with the Director of Operations
and Director of Nursing to ensure highest clinical quality, smooth
patient flow, optimized patient access and cost effective
utilization as well as financial sustainabilityPERFORMANCE
MANAGEMENT Provides medical direction and oversight to the
providers and at the assigned office site Assists in the
supervision of clinicians (NP, PA, physician) including doing chart
audits Performs peer review audits regularly. Discusses any
critical clinical questions with Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
Discusses any provider related issues with the CMO, including
performance concerns that might lead to steps in the corrective
action plan process.RESOURCE, STAFF, AND BUDGETS Works with the
Chief Medical Officer on interviewing, on-boarding, and orientation
of new providers Effectively hires and manages team members while
coaching for development opportunities. Completes annual
evaluations. Assesses opportunities for expanded patient access and
improvements in provider activity.COMPLIANCE, POLICY, AND
PROCEDURES Works with Director of Operations and Director of
Nursing in continuous readiness and implementation of Joint
Commission standards Participates in important organizational
initiatives including but not limited to PCMH and Meaningful Use Is
responsible for initiation and completion of clinical quality
improvement activities, including counseling clinicians about
performance and compliance issues. This also includes completion of
at least one documented PDSA cycle per year that strives to improve
clinical care or operations at the assigned office site Shows
meaningful progress toward quality improvement goals Knowledge of
all clinical regulations and requirements for participation in
programs. Provides appropriate certification, licensing, and
credentialing with various funding sources. Knowledge of clinical
operations including workflow and scheduling.COMMUNICATION
Participates in internal committees and teams as requested Serves
as liaison between the clinicians and other staff Attends
Operations Excellence Council meetings Attends Quality Excellence
Council meetings Liaison to, or member of, organizational
committees as appropriate. Liaison to other internal Chase Brexton
departments.PATIENT FOCUS Demonstrates professionalism and
integrity in all aspects of administrative work and patient care
Effectively engages patients in their care Makes sure that patient
calls are returned (by self or other staff) within 2 working

with various levels of health care leadership both within and
outside of the organization. Computer skills including Microsoft
office suite, electronic medical records and practice management
systemEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Experienced primary care
physician (family practice or internal medicine) with at least 3
years (5 preferred) of clinical experience in primary care and
demonstrated leadership skills and potential. Appropriate Maryland
licensure and clinical certification Active X license Interest in
and/or experience in community health settings Experience working
in a diverse environment Excellent communication and team skills
